Congratulations to Diana Bond and the research team from the University of Sydney, winners of the 2026 Christina Boros Paediatric Research Award presented at this year’s annual Australian Rheumatology Conference.

The Christina Boros Award recognises excellence in research relating to Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and childhood rheumatic diseases (CRDs). This award-winning study is investigating what happens to children with JIA within the health system and beyond by anonymously linking information from state-based health/hospital and education administrative databases. The project is led by Professor Natasha Nassar and funded through a Medical Research Futures Fund grant leveraged by JAFA in 2022. We will post the results of the study as they become available.

JAFA is proud to be involved in the project, with two JAFA parents, one young adult with JIA, and JAFA Director serving as consumer representatives on the research team.
